When was T.G.I. Friday’s started?

It all began on March 15, 1965 with a fun-loving New Yorker named Alan Stillman. He purchased a bar located on 1st Avenue and 63rd Street and named it T.G.I. Friday’s.

Internationally, how many Friday’s are there?

There are currently over 355 restaurants in 59 international countries

Is the T.G.I. Friday’s menu the same everywhere?

No, Friday’s has signature core menu items that are strongly associated with the brand and are available in every market. Our markets can also customize menu items from a wide selection of hundreds of T.G.I. Friday’s recipes. Menus will vary depending on the Guest preference and business needs of the market.

I want to become a franchisee, what is my first step?

Thank you for your interest in becoming a T.G.I. Friday’s franchisee. After reviewing the Qualifications page, simply submit your completed Request for Consideration form and a member of our development team will follow up with you.

What are the minimum requirements to become a T.G.I. Friday’s Franchisee?

The required amount of liquid capital is based on the number of restaurants to be opened and may vary by market. Please refer to the International Qualifications page for more information.

The market I am interested in is not available, why?

There may already be a franchisee in that market. Or, it may be an area that does not currently fit into our International Growth Strategy.

How long does the Franchising process take?

The process time varies. It could take between 4 to 8 months to complete any due diligence, legal reviews and market reviews.

Once approved, how long do I have to build and open my first restaurant?

You will have 6 to 12 months to complete your market plan, real estate review and training and operations preparations.

What kind of support is available to me as a T.G.I. Friday’s Franchisee?

T.G.I. Friday’s provides initial and ongoing support for your franchise. This includes: Operations, Development, Marketing, Training/HR, Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, Financial, as well as Business Management and Strategy.
